Bio
I am a licensed therapist specializing in romantic and family relationships. My practice is grounded in the conviction that humans are biologically wired for connection, flourishing within the context of strong, close relationships. I delve into the science of love, adult attachment, and healthy sexuality as part of my ongoing commitment to understanding and enhancing human connections.
I have had the privilege of working as a community mental health therapist for almost ten years before transitioning to private practice in 2017. Over the years, I have had opportunities to share my insights on topics such as trauma, sexuality, women's health, and attachment at both national and local levels. Alongside my clinical work, I have found fulfillment in mentoring and supporting newer clinicians. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to serve as a field liaison and adjunct professor at OU, a board approved clinical supervisor for LCSW candidates and as a clinical director in a group practice. I am also a mental health contributor for the REMBLE app.
My passion lies in dismantling shame messages surrounding sexuality, creating a space where individuals can embrace their truths without judgment. This commitment led me to lead a research project that resulted in a curriculum titled "Healthy Sexuality", which I taught at the Women in Recovery program within Family & Children’s Services. Recognized for my outstanding contributions, I received the "Spotlight Award" in 2015, and my curriculum continues to impact the program positively.
I delve passionately into the captivating world of attachment science, finding deep fascination in the scientific theories that underpin my work. My commitment to perpetual learning is evident as I remain engaged in ongoing education. Currently navigating the certification process for Emotionally Focused Therapy, an extensive journey I willingly undertake. Even though it's not mandatory I also actively seek routine supervision and consultation with esteemed national experts. It's a testament to my unwavering dedication to professional growth, ensuring that my approach is not only rooted in expertise but also enriched by continuous learning and critical review.
In maintaining a well-balanced professional and personal life, I intentionally limit my total client sessions to 20–23 per week and a maximum of four consecutive sessions in a row. Outside of work, I love running, dancing, tending to my garden (especially my roses), and I hold a unique fondness for clear acrylic containers, reflecting both functionality and a touch of professionalism in my lifestyle. One of my favorite traditions is running the Tulsa Run 15k dressed in costume, 2025 marked my 20th consecutive race. I love adventure and spontaneity, but at the end of the day, my favorite place will always be at home with my husband and our family.
Nonjudgmental. Authentic. Engaged. Straightforward. Competent. Strategic. Compassionate. Insightful. Warm.
Therapeutic Style
Clients value my active involvement in every session. I don't sit back passively while you talk for an hour. I actively engage, seeking permission to interject when necessary. This allows us to pause, reflect, and explore alternative approaches to navigating difficult emotions, ensuring a more enriching and transformative therapeutic experience.
Commitment to Inclusivity and Equality
At my practice, I am deeply committed to fostering a safe and inclusive space for all individuals, regardless of race, sexual orientation or background. I believe that racial equality and the dignity of every human being are fundamental to creating a healing environment. I welcome and affirm all couples, whether heterosexual or LGBTQ+ and strive to offer culturally sensitive care that honors your unique experiences. Together, we work toward building stronger connections rooted in respect, understanding, and mutual support.
